Not your average cup of tea

We had a busy social life this weekend. A lot of our friends tend to want to come over to our place and every week we promise ourselves that we will keep the number of people visiting to a minimum. However, we never seem to succeed. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were packed with social encounters. We won't bore you with all of them, but would like to introduce our friends Bas and Jocelyn.

Bas and Joce, as she is fondly called, are our 'squash, gamin' and boozin' mates'. This Sunday, after our customary game of squash, they came over for dinner. Having finished what we set out to do with we continued with the equally customary boozing and of course we played some pool and a silly, alcohol induced game; the object of the game being to think of a character, sticking a piece of rolling paper on your hapless victim's forehead and making him/her ask questions to discover his/her identity ie 'Who am I?'

See here the catastrophic results...

Hey Baz
Cool post! Looks like you're having a blast in your busy social set up. You'll have to start charging for the privilege to "join Jodie and Barry at home" at weekends!

What a cutie Joce looks. Bet she wins a few hearts with that smile.

By the way, I just popped by to say thanks for the comments on my blog. You've become one of the clan now! What's more, Jo says you've been reading my African Ways story too, so if you're interested, Chapter 3 has been posted....
Cheers m'dear

Hey Jo and Barry
I just saw you comments on my latest offering. Thank you both from the bottom of my boots (and you can't get deeper than that). It's such an endorsement to have the support of so many really artistic and literary people, and yes, Jo, I had many reservations, and especially about this story. What came later clouded the good memories, but I have enough distance now to be able to see it all in perspective; and to enjoy again the novelty, charm and humour of our life in the farm.

I was thinking today how we tend to forget about the real people when we are so caught up in the politics and social issues of SA. I want this story to be about the people and our interaction with them - for others to see that, in fact, there was a symbiosis in which politics and the outside world played no part - and it was good - for a short lived period, I admit - but it was good!

Yo Jo and Bar,

Cool blog :-)! I like the 'Not your average cup of tea' article. Wasn't really familiar with blogs, but i candah like it, interesting stuff to read!

I like your mum's Sindy stories, i might write one for George. Sindy and George can tell each other cat and dog stories. Haha, they could talk about the weather!

George:'Hey Sindy, what's your weather like over there in Rotterdam?'

Sindy:'George dude, it sucks, it's like it's been raining cats and dogs (boom boom) for weeks now....'

Love to all of you,
talk to you soon
xxx Jocelyn.

Hey Joc,

Hee hee.. thanks for the comment. Yes this blog thing is kind of fun although Barry is far more the expert than I am... I just take the pictures :)

I'm sure Sindy will also be very pleased to know you enjoyed her blog. She has inspired afew other cats to start spending more time blogging and less time kipping although, cats being the lazy bums they are, there haven't been many sightings of blogging cats recently.

Have a great trip weekend and see you soon.

xxx
Jo
