My first car

Having passed my drivers license at the end of last year, I've been salivating over the classifieds in search of the four-wheeled beauty that was destined to steal my heart and get me on the road again.

Last Saturday, after having found a dealer that had a number of good looking prospects (my heart was already set on a Renault Megane) we set off with Baz's dad to go and have a look. After much walking around vehicles and checking out all the bits and pieces we finally decided on a very pretty little Megane with a 2.0 litre engine.

Then it was time for the test drive :)

What a feisty little minx she is! I was so caught up in the smooth driving pleasure that I got myself a little lost but that just gave me more time to test her abilities and how pleased I was to do that.

After having finally found my way back to the dealer, I was sold. So without further ado, I give you Lolita :)

I'm quite jealous actually, Jo. Not only have I always loved that particular model of megane, but you've chosen my fave colour! When you eventually go upmarket, I want it, OK?

Hi Jo, listen bru, no ways can you translate Surf African slang into Dutch...lol

By the way folks, I have seen Lolita up close and personal...and even without make up (or is that touch up paint), she's a stunner!

BTW Jo, First chapter part one of Watery Ways is up now..he he got writing itch again!

Will finish your book this week. Have read some more and done some grammar corrections and stuff, but my earliers points stand. It's a terrific story, so I think it's worth giving the main characters a bit more background to give them more depth. xxxx

So, did you get little lolita then? no posts about whizzing around in the hague scattering flocks of grannies, slicing the leads that bind people to their dogs, upsetting grocery stands and sending pedestrians diving to the side?

Hi Jo
Please watch "an inconvenient truth"
Look, I know all of what everyone is trying to tell me, but I don't see why we are debating whether or not to reduce pollution. If there is an alternative to harmful practice, why are we choosing the harm? Why did they pull the electric car project? Why buy petrodiesel instead of biodiesel? Why make aerosols with cfc's when there are plenty without?
Please, just watch the film or look at the slide show, Gore may have one form of propaganda, but in my view, if it lessens pollution, why ridicule it?

Momo,

I am not disagreeing with you at all sweets! I am all for reducing pollution and find it abominable that something like the Kyoto agreement is looked apon as unnecessary by the US... my only point was to say that while we can all take a lesson from your example, for the most part people just dont care... and that will ultimately be our undoing.

And I have already got my energy saving light bulbs from Ikea and contribute to as many causes as I can afford :) Those of us who do care do as much as we are able and I'll be the first to step up and try out the electric cars (they are being introduced here) when they come within my budget range.

Holland is already replanting many areas and re-naturing bits and in every country around the world there are organisations working to keep natural beauty beautiful.

I guess what I'm trying to say is focus on the positive because thats the best way we can make a difference.

Yes, but with posts and internet sites saying we should just rebel basically because it's all some fear inducing control tactic is a bit irresponsible if you ask me.
Anyway, we will all have to live with what happens. Well done for buying your light bulbs and I hope you can get an electric car one day. I am seriously considering going into the making of biodiesel when I have finished studying...among other things, wohoo!
Can you perhaps send the things Craig and I need for his visa application please, along with Mum's stuff?
Cheerio

Anyhoodle bla bla bla, sorry for getting so up tight but it's a serious issue for me, Global warming is just the new buzz word for an old problem in my view, and it pees me off that just because now the world news has picked up on the story, everyone is suddenly an "expert". It bugs me because most of the stuff flying around is made up by the media and detracts from the truth, the fact that we need to live cleaner whatever the case may be.
Have a great day and ignore me

Hahaha, momo, you are not one to be easily ignored. Its an issue thats close to all our family's hearts so believe me when I say we do understand... and know that I am very very proud to have a sister who is using her knowledge to make the world a better place.
